Rambo's Reflections
Updated: Sep 23
Hey y'all. This is the newest section of my webpage. A place to blog/post/share & shout out to you my friends, reading audience, and the curious.
This has been an amazing time of my life. Pages turned, chapters closed, new chapters started. The last three or so years, I've considered time my enemy. I always felt like I was running against the clock. Time and life running out. I was wrong. I will tell you and I hope you take this to heart; You don't know what you don't know. Find someone who can help you find out what you don't know.
I've been very public about discovering and maintaining my time with my therapist. For years I dismissed the concept of seeking or needing a therapist. After all, I'm an Alpha male and what could I possibly need that? Well, I didn't know what I didn't know. My therapist; Lauren Fail (see her link on My Friends page) knew how to lower the shield on my arrogance and ignorance. 37 years of Law Enforcement and a crazy childhood will take its toll on anyone. I've suggested therapy to numerous friends and colleagues but never considered it myself until May of 2025. My life will never be the same and I'm so thankful for that. I've walked through doors of self reflection that I never knew I could and I am NOT the same person I was just 2.5 long years ago. That said, remember you don't know what you don't know. Find someone who can show you.
I close this reflection with a shout out to Mr. James Connor of Sewell NJ. Jim, you and I have been friends now for over 40 years. It's great to see you're still in the mix with volunteering in the Fire Service after a great 25+ years of police work and the lifetime you put in with Whitman Square Fire Company. Congrats on your recent winnings with Ladder 1022 in this years NJ Fireman's Convention in Wildwood NJ. Here's to many more years!!! May they be filled with your dreams and goals and occasionally some Taco Bell!!! Long live the Bell!!
