As I knew it would, the book has already started people talking (again) about the problem with illegal immigration and I stress the words illegal. I want to know what you think, good, bad, or indifferent. Please keep it civil but let me know what you think.

This was cut and pasted from my guest book and I think it shows an interesting aspect of this debate:

Hi, my name is Yolanda, and I live in Swedesboro with my husband and my two kids. Today my husband bring home a card with your info about your book, he is an illigal, but let me tell you something sir, IM SO PROUD OF MY HUSBAND. HE IS A VERY HARD WORKING MEN, HONEST AND SINCERE, A LOVELY HUSBAND A GOOD FRIEND,we are doing all we can to be in law, but unfortunately we have to wait may be a few years before he got his resident visa, Im a handicap woman with a special education teen son, who is going to be a blind adult because of his medical condition, and my husband is working six days a week to give us everything we need, and we live in constant fear of the ICE unit, but my faith is in GOD hands and thats what makes the difference.

MY REPLY:

Hey Yolanda, thank you very much for taking the time to tell me your story. I agree the system is broken beyond belief and good people like your husband get caught up in it. I appreciate his and your devotion to your family and hard work ethic. I too hope God blesses you with answers to your situations including health and prosperity. I have dealt with many many immigrants from other countries over my 19 years of police work. Most are very hard working and again caught up in a broken system. Please remember my book is fiction and in no way meant to offend or insult. Thank you again.

I think you handled the first reply very well and very sincerely. Too many people are "caught up" in the governments broken systems, as you put it.

Thank you for treating people fairly and with compassion. It's part of what makes you amazing.....:)
